How I support you in your recovery
I am fascinated by the intersection of mental, spiritual, and physical health. Addressing all three aspects has been critical in my health journey, and I love supporting others to discover how these aspects of health might play a role in their journey to leading more authentic, joyful lives. I want to encourage and inspire my clients to discover what truly brings them alive, help them shift whatever is blocking them from pursuing it, and help them design a pathway to a more peaceful and rewarding life.
How I support you in building a relationship with self
I am passionate about all aspects of health and wellness as it applies to The HC’s model for healing mind, body, and spirit. I support you on your journey to explore hidden blocks and limiting patterns while connecting with Self. I find that understanding something cognitively is quite different from really feeling it in one's body. My experience is that the deepest healing must also be integrated and experienced somatically. I use the Healing Collective model of healing to help clients both understand patterns cognitively and to process trauma and experience possibilities for new ways of being in the body.
My personal recovery journey
I have been on a lifelong journey of healing around my anxiety, self-criticism, and perfectionism. My deep desire to live a fuller, more joyful life led me to all of the healing modalities I now bring to my clients. I now prioritize my self-care along with deep, authentic relationships. I am improving at letting go of the outcome and trusting that doing my best will be good enough. I am learning to be gentler with myself and to trust my intuition. I am learning that my heart, compassion, and intuition shine through when I can be fully present with someone else.
My experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina and a registered yoga teacher at the 500 hour level (RYT-500) as well as a Certified Yoga Therapy Practitioner. I have 8 years of experience with equine assisted psychotherapy and almost 20 years total in various roles as a healer. I obtained my master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology on the Wilderness Therapy Track from Naropa University in 2005. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University in 2001. I have extensive training and experience in wilderness therapy, wilderness rites of passage and vision quests, equine-assisted psychotherapy, nutrition, health coaching, yoga therapy, and women-centered transformational coaching and facilitation. I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach graduate with advanced training in gut health and emotional eating psychology and a graduate of the Hakomi Institute with training in the Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy. I joined The HC team in 2024 and am an experiential therapy resident.
More about me
I am a mom to two boisterous boys who are avid soccer players. I love spending time with my family, being active, and learning new things. I practice yoga and meditation daily and love nothing more than curling up with a good book on a rainy day. Hiking, spending time in nature, and gardening are all part of my self-care along with cooking and laughing with my boys. Movement is so important to me and I love staying active in different ways, including weight training, tennis, bike riding, and pickleball.
