How I support you in your recovery
I support clients in their recovery by establishing trust and creating a safe, judgement free space. I also provide support through validation, empathy, compassion, vulnerability, transparency, and accountability. I meet clients where they are at, actively listen, and utilize motivational interviewing. "Life is a blank canvas, it's never too late to create your masterpiece, you hold the paint brush” Danny Kaye.
How I support you in building a relationship with self
I support clients with building a better relationship with self through a deeper understanding of the importance of self-care, setting healthy boundaries, and practicing self-compassion. Some of the necessary steps to building this strong relationship consist of identifying your strengths and weaknesses, acknowledging your emotions and thoughts, and exploring your values and beliefs. This all takes honesty, self-compassion, and validation. Honesty in evaluating the areas in your life that need attention, self-compassion and how to be kinder and gentler to yourself, and validation, accepting and acknowledging your feelings without judgement including those unpleasant emotions like anger and shame.
My personal recovery journey
One thing I’ve learned through my own recovery journey was how to trust the process and that it’s an ongoing process of finding a path to a healthy lifestyle. My recovery journey has also provided me with the opportunity to establish profound connections with clients as well as the ability to build trust and safety through transparency and compassion to support change and healing. There’s a sense of power and healing in addressing some of those core wounds that need tending to, versus simply putting a band aide over the wound. I also learned the power of vulnerability, the complicated and messy truths, and connection, using the words "me too.”
My experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor in North Carolina. I have 6 years experience in the field, including experience in a treatment center. I obtained my master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University in 2024 and joined The HC team in 2025. I obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Waldorf University in 2020. I am an experiential therapy resident with a special interest in the power of group process.

What Element Do You Resonate With?
Water
“I most identify with water. The ocean is my favorite place to be and serves as a gentle reminder that I am continuously in my own recovery. Like the tides of the ocean, I have highs and lows during recovery, and that’s okay.”
