Meet Lorree Riley, LCMHC/LPC

Hello—I’m Lorree Riley. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor supporting clients in North and South Carolina.

How I support you in building a relationship with self

I draw from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based (MBCT) therapies—and weave in creative, expressive elements that echo my roots in visual arts. I believe that blending evidence-based practices with imagination helps you step toward clarity, resilience, and a life guided by intention rather than stress.

My recovery journey

I grew up in Charleston, SC, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University. Witnessing how art can help us manage anxiety and depression inspired me to pursue a Master of Arts in Expressive Therapy. That blend of artistry and healing informs how I hold space for you now.

Today, I’m walking my own path of emotional sobriety, showing up as a Fellow Traveler with clients. I’m not above you - I’m beside you. That’s how real recovery works.

More about me

As both a mom and a fellow professional, I get how overwhelming life’s demands can feel. I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s behind the anxiety, rediscover self-compassion, and step toward emotional wellness—on your own terms and at your own pace. Beyond therapy, I also love speaking with groups about stress, self-doubt, and the everyday emotional hurdles we all face—sharing practical tools that boost mental and emotional well-being.

What Element Do You Resonate With?

Water has always helped me shift perspective and feel lighter. Water can be both forceful and serene, holding so much power in any state. Being near water soothes and calms the deepest part of my soul allowing me to feel deeply connected to self.

How I support you in your recovery

I have a strong compassion for high achievers, busy parents, and professionals who are trying to balance career, family, and personal fulfillment. If you often feel like you’re doing all the things and still falling short, you’re not alone. I’ve spent over 16 years journeying alongside clients who feel stuck between their drive for achievement and a persistent undercurrent of stress, self-criticism, overthinking, guilt, or a sense of not measuring up.
