My personal experience in recovery creates an extra degree of compassion, connection, and dedication to supporting others in finding a place to heal. I can still remember the feeling when I first entered recovery, how scared I was, and how lonely it felt . I was fortunate enough to have an entire support network that surrounded me, and I believe that every individual should be gifted with this same opportunity.
Charlotte, NC is where I began my recovery process, and I live here with my beautiful wife and daughter, Maisie. I am from the Crystal Coast of North Carolina where I enjoy going to visit my entire extended family that still lives there today. I love opportunities that I get when I can spend a day of “Daddy-Maisie adventures” and date nights with my wife. Being in the gym is where I find ample serenity, along with staying connected in the recovery community.
I am passionate about helping others find their way into recovery. I feel that everyone deserves to live a life of abundance, while building healthy connections with others. I believe that every person walking this planet has experienced trauma to some degree, and everyone deserves the same chance at recovering from those events. What fills my cup is being able to witness the entire family system (not just the client) become healthier, each following a path of their own recovery. If all members of a family system form a parallel process in healing, we get to see those connections and relationships shift monumentally.
I am driven by making meaningful connections with others and providing support for the community with education on available resources. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2009. I am a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor Intern with the intent on being fully certified within the next year. I have had comprehensive training specific to substance use disorders and family systems. I have previously worked in a leadership position at a dual diagnosis treatment center and believe strongly in the style of servant leadership.
