About Me

The first thing to know about me is I am human! I am a firm believer that I am a continuous work in progress. I grew up as the oldest sibling who put a lot of pressure on herself to mold into someone who was “perfect”. I know what it feels like when you are struggling under the everyday pressures of the world. In my own journey, I have learned about how anxiety and depression affect the body. Whether it was fatigue or stomach aches, I learned that my body was actually speaking to me through my physical health, and it was yelling at me to listen. So, I began to listen. In this journey to heal, I sought out many different health professionals but found the most impact in therapy and holistic approaches. In this exploration, my fascination and passion for the connection of the mind, body and spirit came alive. I am proud to say that today, I listen to both my body and my mind and understand that there is a strong correlation between the two.

In addition to my personal recovery, it is important to know that I am a family member of someone in recovery. Through this experience, I have come to understand the importance of healing the whole family system. Many family members are left feeling invalidated and in the dark as the focus of those struggling with recovery become the focal point of the family system. It is this idea that fuels my passion for working with families in recovery. Through personal experience and passion for the field, I am a dedicated individual who aims to not just help but heal. I believe that connection and relationships form who we are and how we show up in the world today. Through healing it is important to foster a new connection and relationship with both self and others.

I graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Masters of Social Work degree. Additionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) in North Carolina. Over the last 5 years, I have worked in the field with clients, individuals and families through a dual-diagnosis lens. Whether it was through outpatient treatment or individual therapy, the client and their whole system act as the center of healing, acknowledging that no one is alone. I support both adolescents and adults in their journey to heal. I specialize in numbing and medicating through various forms, anxiety, depression, trauma and family dysfunction.

— What Element Do You Resonate With —

Air

“I identify with air because it is the most basic need of the human body. Listening to my body and focusing on the basics is what resets me and lets me know when I need to practice self care. As an extrovert it also allows me to communicate and connect with others, which is essential to refilling my cup.”
